Born and raised in South Africa, I now proudly call myself Canadian, after living there for over half of my life. If you live in Canada, or have visited our incredible country, you might ask me why I’d want to live anywhere else in the world. It’s true, Canada is beautiful in every way – I’m reminded of this as I decorate my suitcases with my Canadian flag luggage tags – and it’s hard to imagine not enjoying all the freedoms and privileges which I fear I’ve begun to take for granted. I’m leaving Canada so I can learn, really learn, about the world. I hope you’ll learn along with me.
